On September 1, 2021, we officially launched our Tree Planting Program! From now on, every single new project with us plants at least one tree. In 2021, we held our first-ever company-wide Earth Week celebration. With lockdowns and travel restrictions still in place in Canada, we held the event virtually. Team members were able to take time out of their schedules to work on a green project of their choosing. Together, we picked up dozens of bags full of trash, planted our gardens, donated clothes and other household items, cooked scrumptious vegan meals, built birdhouses, and much more. In February 2021, we became an official supporter of Tree Canada. We will soon be launching our Impetus Digital “plant-a-tree program” where we will be planting trees throughout Canada as a way to say “thank you” to our clients and team members every month.

As the initial step towards becoming carbon-neutral, Impetus Digital became a GBB platinum-certified business in September 2020. This step, along with the formation of the Impetus Green Team, was key to getting the framework needed to start planning and executing our other green initiatives.

Due to the high demand for virtual events such as medical conferences, congresses, educational events, and corporate meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic, InSite Events™ was officially launched in February 2021. Considering the huge environmental footprint associated with these types of large events (flights, land transportation, food, printed materials, AV equipment, accommodation, etc.), virtual events are an eco-friendly alternative to in-person gatherings. Every international conference that is held virtually instead of in-person will keep hundreds of metric tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere.
